Fun Things to Do

  • Little River Falls... a favorite spot for a swim, picnic or hiking.
  • Desoto State Park...nice hiking trails, zip-lines, Country Store, and several waterfalls
  • Canyon Center...be sure visit while enjoying Little River Falls. Information on the National Preserve as well as educational programs throughout the year about our Mountain and our wildlife.
  • Desoto Falls.."the Little red boat house" known as one of the most photographed falls in North Alabama. Paddleboarding, canoeing and swimming is a favorite at this spot. Don't forget to walk down into the falls!
  • Eberhart Point...it's a walk down into the bottom of Little River Canyon. Enjoy, because it is a hike back up but well worth the beauty!
  • Alabama Fan Clun Museum if you visit Lookout Mountain then you're visiting the home of the ALABAMA band! Randy Owen, Teddy Gentry. And the late Jeff Cook called this Mountain home. Be sure to visit their fan club.
  • Fort Payne Splash Pad..(seasonal) downtown beautiful Fort Payne. Plan to stop and enjoy the Alabama Walking Park and the Fort Payne City Park.
  • Orbix Hot Glass...yes, you can make your own glass ornament, dish, whatever your heart can blow and let be heated..pretty cool!
  • Collinsville Trade Day..only open on Saturday. Come to prowl, look around, buy a rabbit, corn dogs, wood items, even flowers and plants. Local vendors for local folks.
  • Lil' Mole Golf Course..Mentone's 9 hole golf course. Nice greens, a little breezy at times, and super nice folks.
  • Cloudmont Ski Resort..yep...Ski Bama!
  • Man-made ski slope (seasonal)..Equipment rental available. Snowboarding, too. Lots of fun for all ages.
